I was so excited to receive a package in the mail for Acai Power, because I was running out of Açaí. In the package, I received a 150g sampler pack of Açaí powder, a pack of stickers, two temporary tattoos and a t-shirt with their logo on it, along with a brochure that stated their other products and the history of the company.
It was back in 2001 on a business trip when entrepreneur, avid surfer, and founder of Amazon Power, Americo Tognetti realized the distinct lack of Acai and Acai products in the Australian market. Americo saw the passion Australian’s had for healthy living and saw a perfect fit for the Acai berry found in his home country of Brazil. After three years of hard work Americo finally introduced Acai to Australia in 2004. Since then he, through his business Amazon Power, has been spreading the word throughout Australia, teaching Australian’s how to eat and prepare Acai as the locals do in the streets if Brazil. Amazon Power and It’s exclusive supplier together are the largest buyer of Acai world wide and as a result is able to ensure the highest quality Acai at the best prices.
Acai contains high amounts of antioxidants which are great for your skin, hair, and cell replenishment. The berry also contains large amounts of fiber, essential fatty acids, amino acids, and vitamin C which help to improve your digestion, nervous system, promote muscle performance, energy production, endurance, strength and helps to improve your overall health.
I love the taste acai powder so I put it into all my smoothie bowls or nice-creams to give them an extra boost. If you don’t like the taste of the powder you can buy it in capsules or tablets, which are also perfect for people that are on the go and don’t have time to make a smoothie or bowl. I made an acai bowl using this powder. (recipe below)
The t-shirt I received is a little big for me, so I wear it as a pajama top and I love it. It’s made from 100% combed cotton and is printed with their logo, designed by Karina Teixeira.
I haven’t used the stickers or tattoos yet, because I am starting school in less than a week and don’t want to get in trouble from wearing them. I will probably put the stickers on my computer or my phone.
- 4 tablespoons of acai powder
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1 cup of frozen blueberries
- 1 cup of plant based milk
- 1 teaspoon of sweetener
- 1 teaspoon of cacao (optional)
Add everything into a high-speed blender or food processor and blend for about 3 minutes until everything is smooth and creamy.
Pour into a bowl or jar and top with granola, nuts, seeds, and your favourite fruits.
This is my favourite way to use acai (well actually the only way I know how to).
If you have any other ways how to use it send me a message on Instagram or Facebook and ill check it out.
